Mrs. Candela Honored by MICPA!
Congratulations to Mrs. Joanne Candela, Lutheran Northwest's amazing Accounting teacher, on receiving the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountant's 2018 Outstanding High School Teacher Award!
The Outstanding High School Teacher Award honors talented teachers who expend uncounted hours inspiring students to dream big dreams, work to accomplish them, and to think rigorously about what they want their future to be. They have given students the opportunity to discover the accounting profession.
Joanne Candela, instructor for Accounting I and II at Lutheran High School Northwest in Rochester Hills, is a true advocate for the profession. Currently the only high school educator on the Educators Task Force, Joanne demonstrates her commitment to building the pipeline by sharing her unique perspective and offering recommendations for engaging and educating students on the CPA career path. She has also been the driving force behind her high school’s participation in the MICPA High School Leaders Conference over the past two years.
She is an excellent role model and gifted teacher who constantly inspires her students to chase their dreams while devoting much of her time and knowledge to helping them do so.
