A vast array of activities offer Lutheran Northwest students the opportunity to act, play, sing, and create. Numerous musical groups - both vocal and instrumental - perform, travel, and compete throughout the year. Our drama department offers up four productions each year, including a One Act Play Festival that gives Seniors the opportunity to try their hand at directing. Whether you participate on stage, behind the scenes, or as a part of the audience, Lutheran Northwest's Fine Arts department has something for you!

Instrumental Music Groups

Opportunities for involvement include:

Concert Band
Jazz Band
Pep Band

The Concert Band tours every Fall, with recent destinations including New York City and Nashville.

There are numerous additional performance opportunities throughout the year, including a Christmas Concert, the Spring Fine Arts Festival and the Lutheran High School Association Joint Concert, among others.

Lutheran Northwest Band students compete annually in the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association performance competition.

Students who participate in Band increase their love for music as well as their ability on their instruments. They understand musical concepts, vocabulary, and different musical styles. They become more aesthetically sensitive and learn to better appreciate the gift of music!

Vocal Music Groups

Opportunities for involvement include:

Mixed Chorus
Concert Choir
Chamber Choir

The Concert Choir tours every Spring, with recent destinations including St. Louis and Chicago.

There are numerous additional performance opportunities throughout the year, including a Christmas Concert, a Cabaret Night, the Spring Fine Arts Festival and the Lutheran High School Association Joint Concert, among others.

Lutheran Northwest Choir students compete annually in the Michigan School Vocal Music Association performance competition.

Singing in Choir at Lutheran Northwest provides students with an opportunity to glorify God through song! Each singer is expected to consistently model a strong effort to improve as an individual musician and show a dedication to making excellent music with the choir as a whole.

Drama

Lutheran Northwest boasts an active, enjoyable theatre department, open to all students regardless of their experience or interests. Share your talent and passion on stage, or behind the scenes doing set design, lighting, hair or makeup. Students can earn membership in the International Thespian Society through their participation in the program. They also have the opportunity to serve their community through the Hunger Heroes School Challenge. There is something for everyone here, and a system of camaraderie and support that underlies and upholds it all - we're more than just an after-school activity. We are a family.
