Senior Spotlight: Mark Mantay

Valedictorian
A 4.0+ student at Lutheran Northwest, Mark Mantay, Jr. is the Lutheran Northwest Class of 2026 Valedictorian. His future plans include attending the University of Michigan to study Engineering. Mark’s home church is St. John Lutheran in Rochester and he also attended St. John for grade school.
Mark participated in National Honor Society while at Lutheran Northwest and is receiving our STEM Biomedical and Engineering endorsements. A member of the Leadership Cohort, Mark has been recognized by the faculty of Lutheran Northwest with a number of awards in his four years, including the Math Department Award, the Physical Sciences Department Award, and the Social Studies Department Award. This year, Mark also received a National Merit Scholarship Commendation from the College Board.
In addition to his outstanding academic achievements at Lutheran Northwest, Mark was a member of our Varsity Football team for two years and participated in Junior Varsity Basketball for two years.
Mark, what is your favorite thing about Lutheran Northwest?
My favorite thing about Lutheran Northwest is the faith-based environment and being able to learn through a Christian perspective both in the classroom and through athletics. I also appreciate the strong sense of community that comes from sharing those values with others.
